Facebook’s News Feed Could Be “All Video” In Five Years

Based on the predictions of Nicola Mendelsohn, Facebook VP’s, video content will be the most dominant form of content in your Facebook news feed in the future. She said Facebook users are posting more media-based status updates and less textual content. “If we look already, we’re seeing a year-on-year decline on text. We’re seeing a massive increase, as I’ve said, of both pictures and video. So I think, yeah, if I was having a bet, I would say … video, video, video,” she stated. According to the latest stats, 500 million users watch video on Facebook on a daily basis. Nicola Mendelsohn thinks that the main reason for the popularity of Facebook video is because video content offers a better way to tell stories compared to the other types of content.

85% Of Facebook Video Is Watched Without Sound

According to various publishers, 85% of videos on Facebook are viewed without a sound. The latest data shows that Facebook videos are generating 8 billion views per day. Millennial news site Mic claims that 85% of its videos that last 30 second are watched without sound.
