In our previous blogpost we have talked about what makes an effective Overlay Ad and how can you use it in your marketing campaign. As you know, Brid.tv player offers our partners monetization options for their videos, which enables them to monetize original videos by landing Non-Linear ads (overlays) and Linear ads: (Pre-Roll; Mid-Roll; Post-Roll). Basically you can display any kind of non-linear ads (a scroll, ticker, or watermark image) in a single player. TIP: 300×250 companion display is highly recommended.

We’ve touched a bit the subject of ads in our How To Create Effective Pre-Roll Ads. It seams only natural to try to explain what makes an effective overlay ad now? Overlay ads were created when the effectiveness of video pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll ads was brought to questione so advertisers came up with new advertising concept. An ad overlay essentially provides advertisers with the opportunity to place traditional banner advertising inside streamed video. That way advertisers can incorporate their messages directly into streamed video without drastically interrupting users’ viewing experience. (more…)

According to a study done by Eye View Digital, videos on a landing page can increase conversions by up to 86%. Videos combine four elements that humans are wired to pay attention to: faces, voices, body language and movement. That’s why landing page videos can be a perfect way for demonstrating the benefits of your product or service in a brief, effective, and informative way. Videos can increase the length of time people stay on your web page, and if you place a video on your product page, people will be more interested in watching that video than reading a long text instead. Stats show that only 28% of the words on an average page of a website are actually read. Latest studies on web use have shown that humans have an attention span of 8.25 seconds, and as we already know that web attention spans are short, videos can serve you as a great way to say everything you want about you and your your product benefits and still keep your audience’s attention. It’s really hard to comprehend a world where we didn’t have cat videos at the tip of our fingers to watch anytime and everywhere we like. And yet, that’s exactly the world we had at the beginning of 2005 on February 14th.
On that Valentine’s Day three young guys, former PayPal employees, wanted to give a world yet another adult meeting website, much like HotOrNot only with the emphasis on shared videos instead of pictures. They registered a domain with a weird name “YouTube.com”. They thought it was an idea worth pursuing but soon enough it turned out it was anything but. (more…)
