According to an Animoto study, 56% of consumers said that if a company has a website, it should feature some video content. The result of the study shows consumers were 4X more interested in watching a product video than reading about that same product. When it comes to the importance of brand videos on social networking platforms, the study found that 84.2% of shoppers have liked a company video that showed up on their news feed, and about 47.4% have shared a company video. The undoubtable influence that a product video has on shoppers before making a purchase proves the fact that 74.9% of respondents said watching a product video before making a purchase has proven to be very helpful.

Retailers To Take The Lead In Digital Ad Spending
Retailers will take the lead in digital ad spending, shows the latest research done by eMarketer. Digital ad spending in the U.S. is expected to reach $58.61 billion this year, and the predictions of eMarketer are that retailers ad spending will account 22% of the total figure. Retailers advertising expenditure will go up to 17% compared to the previous year, reaching $12.91 billion. Retailers are investing more aggressively in mobile and programmatic display ads, and the predictions are they will spend almost twice in mobile advertising compared to any other industry. As for video content, eMarketer states retailers will account for 19.9% of the total video ad expenditure ($7.77 billion). The latest Twitter report shows 90% of Twitter videos are being watched on a tablet or smartphone, and around 70% of Twitter users watch videos found in their feed. Twitter state’s that native video can drive 2.5X more as many replies and 3X as many retweets than any third-party video shared on this social network service. According to this report, 50% of users spend their time on Twitter watching sports clips and TV shows, while 64% watch breaking news. Online ad viewability is a hot topic in advertising right now, therefore, brand advertisers want to ensure that their video ads are seen. Google conducted a study of their video advertising platforms, as they explain – to better understand video ad viewability. They analyzed two separate sets of data during April of 2015. The first data set consisted of video viewability across the web which did not included YouTube (Mobile video app ad views were excluded from this data set) and the second data set which consisted of video viewability data for YouTube, only this data set include both data from across the web and mobile in-app ads. According to this study, YouTube users have a 91% viewability rate of video ads, while the average viewability of video ads across the web (not including YouTube) is 54%. (more…)
