Besides our real-time video analytics, one of the most talked about additions to our 3.8 video platform release is Live Images Support. Following industry trends if you choose us to encode your videos, you’ll have an option to use either screenshot or, what we call, ‘live image’ of your video that can be used instead of a snapshot.


Live Images are, basically, a small 5-second preview of your video. The live image will appear in your player when a user moves the cursor over your player. Keep in mind that a live image will be present in the player only if your player is click-to-play.
This feature is currently only supported on Google Chrome and Opera on desktop. Other browser support is planned in the future once they start supporting the new webp standard.
